- own at least 10 acres of woodlands in Massachusetts, managed under a written forest management plan.
- manage it in a sustainable fashion in compliance with all state forestry laws and regulations.
- manage it to protect streams and wetlands, rare species, and to encourage wildlife.
If your property meets those requirements, contact MFA to have it inspected by a certified Tree Farm inspector. If they find your management meets the current Tree Farm standards, your woodland will be certified and qualify to display the Tree Farm sign. One sign is provided free to each Tree Farm.
